Among the good intentions I set out at the beginning of this incredible 2017 was to visit a Caribbean country.
I love the sea and the idea of being able to see a heavenly one with my eyes had always made me very enthusiastic.
So when I’ve received a propose to join the #VacanzaViva team in July for the discovery of the Dominican Republic, I could only accept it in blink of a eye.
If you think a “paradise” trip is economically prohibitive I have to correct you right away, in the high season (eg already in September) an all inclusive week (drinks, food and alcohol) including flight, at Viva Whyndam Dominicus Beach has a cost about 900 euros. Just to say in a week in Sardinia I spent more.
The resort that has hosted us has a long history behind, this year has celebrated its 30 years and indeed if you have this age you will be entitled to a super discount for your stay.
I really can not express the happiness that my heart has tried to put in my feet for a first time in a white sand with silk texture and in a crystal clear sea that has the locust fish that we only see in the aquariums.
I remember my desire to wake up as soon as possible (and it is usually the other way around) to take a stroll down to the wonderful beach of Bayahibe.
From my Caribbean bungalow at the Beach (one of the sections of the resort) was just a few steps away, divided only by some crazy red crabs because of the season of loves and the white corals that come here from the sea.
Breakfast with exotic fruit, mango, passion fruit and avocado admiring the Caribbean Sea and the smiles of every person I met.
I can not think how heaven can be more beautiful than this place.
With the #VivaGirls team, we’ve been able to try a good deal of the available and bookable tours at the resort, as well as the many sports activities available.
My favorite?
First of all the experience at Saona Island, a tropical paradise made of colorful houses with sea view, coconut, rum and the most beautiful sea I’ve ever seen.
But it also deserve a visit the Catalina Island (totally deserted, only inhabited by tourists and workmen only), buggy ride between sugar cane and horseback riding in the forest near the resort.
And in this latter place I had to plant one of the many shrubs that were donated to the resort on its birthday.
I hope to see him one day to be a wonderful tree, filtering the golden rays of the sun pf a place that most of all made me fall in love.
I leave you to the pictures, while I’m almost moved to think back to the perfection of moments in the Dominican Republic.
Everyone loves this place, only after we’ve been there I am able to understand why.
